about SEPSERV
Founders
of the Company
SEPSERV
Separation Service was founded in 1990 in Berlin by G. J. Eppert and I.
Schinke.
G.
J. Eppert is working on chromatography since almost 40 years and since
more than 25 years on HPLC. He is author of more than 70
relevant publications and patents.
Together
with I. Schinke, who is a coauthor of many publications, G.
J. Eppert synthesized already since 1975 very pure silicagels from alkoxysilanes
in large scale. They were the first commercial base inert materials on the
basis of silicagel , known as ES-Gel Leuna. In 1990 the gels obtained
a Gold Medal at Leipzig Autumn Fair. Later on, the gels were renamed to UltraSep ES.
1977
G.
J. Eppert published the book "Einführung in die Schnelle
Flüssigchromatographie" (Akademie-Verlag Berlin und Vieweg-Verlag, Braunschweig, Wiesbaden),
second Edition 1988. 1997 the book was published by Vieweg in a much more expanded form with the titel "Flüssigchromatographie, HPLC – Theorie und Praxis".
G.
J. Eppert is a lecturer in Analytical Chemistry. 1983
– 90 he held lectures about modern liquid chromatography at the Technischen
Hochschule Merseburg, 1985 lectures about liquid and gas chromatography at
the National Test House Calcutta (India).
G.
J. Eppert is coauthor of the "Handbuch der Gaschromatographie" (Akademische
Verlagsgesellschaft) and of "Analytikum" (Deutscher Verlag für
Grundstoffindustrie, Leipzig, Stuttgart). 1994 he published the titel "Leitfaden ausgewählter Trennmethoden" (Deutscher Verlag für
Grundstoffindustrie, Leipzig, Stuttgart) as company publication.
Strategy
of the company and the picture of the home page
HPLC developed enormously in last decades. Every year newcomers are joining
this discipline, who have no or not much experience. SEPSERV
with its own experience intends to be a Bridge to Solve the Problems,
which can arise. Last but not least, by the wide range of special columns
the experienced chromatographer obtains adequate
possibilities for the
solution of difficult separation problems too .
The
search for packings with new selectivities plays an important role for SEPSERV. For instance, already
in 1993 SEPSERV synthesized a RP-C16-packing with an internal polar function
(CHAIR-carrier). In the last years more and more packings with other
embedded groups (amide, urea, carbamate) were placed successfully on the
market.
This
prime concern of SEPSERV is symbolized on the home page by The
Bridge of Langlois in Arles, which was
painted by Vincent van
Gogh in 1888.
